As we all know, buying a house is not easy. It can however, be a very fun and exciting process if you follow the tips below.
)Like many things in our crazy lives, things get hectic and crazy. Slow down though while you are looking for your new dream home. It’s our number one piece of advice; take your time. Be sure to talk with your Real Estate Agent about the many opportunities there are in the market you are interested in buying your home.
)Find the location and neighborhood that’s right for you. Once you have selected the area in which you would like to reside in, you will want to find out through the neighbors in that area what the community is like to ensure you have an idea of what to expect.
)Your Real Estate Agent is here to help you! Don’t be afraid of asking your Realtor or the seller a lot of questions regarding the house you are looking at making your new home. Don’t feel as though you are being too picky or asking too many questions. Real Estate Agents welcome your questions and want to make sure you have everything you need in order to make your dream a reality.
)Get a grip; grip on taxes that is. Make sure that you have a clear understanding of how much taxes are going to be. Don’t settle for just one tax bill to illustrate the amount you will have to pay. Ask for more details and several years’ worth of tax information to help you make your decision. Can you afford to pay more if needed?
)Down Payments. Down payments are important because you are unable to get a loan for 100% of the price unless of course you are paying cash for the house. Down payments of 20% are preferable. FHA loans offer down payments as low as 3.5%. Remember, you don’t want to put too much money down and wipe out your bank account. Make sure you contact your lender to see what down payment works best for you.
)Be Realistic! Make sure you understand ahead of time before purchasing your home that you can pay the monthly payments with ease. Review your current budget and see what monthly payment would be best.
)Utilities Cost more than you thought? Now what? Be in the know of how much you can expect to pay in utilities. Be sure to ask the current owners to give you months’ worth of the utility bills so that you have firsthand knowledge of what you are going to pay for electricity and water for your house. Your Real Estate Agent is happy to talk with the current owners to ensure they help answer any questions you have.
)Research! Plan ahead and research the neighborhood you are considering living in. Be sure to utilize the Internet to check out crime rates in the area and visit our OrlandoHub.com specialty websites for the area you are looking for to obtain subdivision and community information.
)The house looks great at night but during the day, not so great! Make sure you visit the house you are interested in purchasing at several different times of the day. Know what you are getting and ensure that there are no surprises.
)Be Practical: Find a home that is practical to live in, not just because it has great features like the copper sink or the stainless steel appliances. You can always upgrade these appliances and features in the future if need be, but always make a practical home your top priority.
